Hospital

I've just spent the morning at the hospital Diabetic clinic. Not good, weight, blood sugar and blood pressure were all far too high. I also had to have an X-ray of my spine. So all in all a long morning. Luckily I took my knitting and managed a large part of a baby's jacket in various waiting rooms. More appointments will be coming up in the next few weeks, so lots of knitting opportunities.

On return, took this picture of Rose ' New Dawn', one of my favourites.

Socks

I managed to complete these socks today

I love the self patterning sock yarns, these were Opal, but I've also used Regia and Socka. Now I've actually managed to complete some projects I feel the urge to cast on something new. I see that Feed the Children are asking for knitted garments for children in Asia, so I can see a reduction in stash beckoning.

In the garden Albertine is blooming prolifically and I've just seen my first tiny frog of the year which means the tadpoles are changing and leaving the pool so I can soon clear out the weed without getting a net full of distressed tadpoles.

Another FO

Well, I managed to finish another project which has been hanging around for a while waiting for ends to be darned in. It's Elizabeth Zimmermanns 'Baby Surprise Jacket'. I love this pattern and have made it about four times now.

The yarn was left overs from other projects in my stash. One of the joys of this pattern is that you can use up quite small amounts of yarn and know that both sides will match.

First Post

Well I've finally started my own Blog after dithering over it for a few days. Glorious weather yesterday so the garden took priority over knitting, although I am trying to complete a few small projects for the school fete on Saturday.

Managed to mow the lawn and took some photos. The jasmine 'Revolutum' is looking particularly good at the moment but sadly no scent.

The border in the front garden is also doing well. It replaced a looming Leylandii hedge which I had removed a few years ago.

Wet and thundery this morning so I think this will be a knitting day. I have so many projects on the go, I've decided to show only those which actually get finished!
